The Northwest georgia big event Monday, April 5, 2021

The Big Event is an annual event that takes place on over 130 campuses and communities around the world. It was started by Texas A&M’s student government in 1982 as a way for students to show appreciation to the surrounding community.  

The Big Event is an opportunity for students to develop relationships with local community members and give thanks for the resources our community provides. The Big Event is an organization founded not only on serving the community through “One Big Day”, but on creating a mindset to continuously serve our community and transform ourselves in the process. By taking the time to give back to those around us, we learn to be increasingly selfless individuals, to sacrifice for the benefit of others and to leave this world better than we once found it..
